The Audio Guys specialise in racing game audio, in addition to creating audio for all genres.

History
TAG have been working in the racing genre for well over a decade, creating the audio for a string of high profile racers - from the fantasy racing of the Micro Machines series, the classic Colin McRae Rally series, the circuit based TOCA Touring Cars games, the story driven Race Driver series, and the recent arcade remake of Sega Rally (console and arcade), as well as helping on the engine work for the recent acclaimed racer...Forza Motorsport 3.
Coding
TAG have designed numerous code systems to play back engine assets, from the simple single sample loops in Micro Machines through to multi layered loop systems, and also extremely complex 'loopless' systems contained in recent next gen titles.
Assets & Recording
TAG have professionally recorded well over 100 awesome cars over the last decade. The vast majority of these were on a rolling road due to the controllable recording conditions, however we also have experience of recording 'on track' (much more tricky!).

In this example of a lovely Super 1600 Ford Puma, we had a 4 channel setup. Click below to hear the perspective from each mic during an enthusiastic road load simulation! (road load simulation = someone driving the car at break neck speed whilst hoping it stays tied down!)
1 - Exhaust
2 - Air Filter
3 - Gearbox
4 - Engine Ambient
Library
TAG now have a great line up of car recordings in our library, all of which are at least the quality of the above recordings. More recently TAG have started to add motorcycles to the library.
Future
TAG have now upgraded the recording rig to 8 simultaneous channels for all future recordings!
